NEWCOMERS…welcomes new members on the first Sunday of every month after all Masses; new parishioners are welcomed twice a year with an evening at the church that includes a tour, Mass and dinner.
EDDIE’S ANGELS NURSERY…a co-op nursery that is available to children six months to four years of age on Sundays during the 9:30 AM Mass; the nursery is served by parents who use the nursery along with youth volunteers (regular users are requested to register their children).
SUNDAY SCHOOL…a program of introduction to our Catholic faith geared towards four to five year olds from October through April; children experience Bible stories, songs, group interaction, crafts and prayer during the 9:30 AM Sunday Mass. The contact for the Sunday School Program is Beth Schmidt.
DONUT SUNDAY…held on the first and third Sundays of the month from October through May to foster hospitality and camaraderie among parishioners, guests and newcomers.
CANA DINNER…held every February close to Valentine’s Day; an evening celebration of the sacrament of marriage for couples through Mass, dinner and dancing.
FEAST OF ST. EDWARD…held early in September; an outdoor Sunday parish celebration honoring our parish namesake; we are a tithing parish: there is no cost for activities that include Mass on the grass at the 11:00 AM service, food, treats and games (with prizes) for all ages (our facilities allow for an indoor celebration if there is inclement weather).
DINNER CLUB…made up of St. Edward’s couples who gather on the first Saturday of the month to share pre-planned menus in each other’s homes.
40+ SINGLES…interested singles participate in a variety of activities including going out to restaurants, movies, plays, bowling and mini-golf.
SARA GUILD…a women’s community-building group; through a yearly due that is paid to charitable organizations, women participate in monthly social gatherings that have included bus trips, restaurants and theater.
BRIDGE CLUB…this card club, Couples Bridge, gathers to play cards, share food and connect with other parishioners and friends throughout the community; high scores are reported in the parish bulletin.
BOCCE BALL…individuals, couples and teams of four play in the evening at the Bloomington city courts (south of the Valley View Pool area) in the late spring through the early Fall.
