Families Moving Forward (FMF)

As part of Families Moving Forward, St. Ed’s has the opportunity to host Homeless Families overnight, in lieu of going to a regular shelter.
We provide parishioners to visit with them, feed them dinner and breakfast, and offer evening activities for their young children, to give parents who are either working or looking for work a bit of a break.

“Whatever you do for the least of my brothers, that you do unto me.” (Matt.)

YOU
could be one of those lucky ones to offer a much-needed, friendly welcome to these families from St. Ed’s!

Our Next Hosting WEEK:     January 25 - 31, 2009

We Always Need YOUR  Help!  Fun for Families & Friends!

No need to go anywhere else to serve the poor in our midst!

Coordinators Needed

We are be in need of a coordinators for a few ministries for Families Moving Forward. These coordinators would need to communicate with those who volunteer for these ministries, about what to expect, what is expected of them, and other pertinent information provided by the director, as well as making sure that all the volunteer slots for those ministries are filled. Everything will run so smoothly with these coordinators in place. Training provided if desired, and possible one meeting of all coordinators right before the week begins.

*  Laundry Coordinator - to make sure we have people to launder all of the guests' bedding & towels & coordinate the pick-up of dirty laundry & scent-free detergents, as well as the timely drop-off & storage of freshly laundered linens.
